Post Sample Ballot Images Here! Pat A. Vesely ;-) Paper ballots are the 'Currency of Democracy'. They've been helping to curb election fraud since 139 BCE!

Okay, I'm in for the sample ballot library, and Pat -- I'm only coming up for air rarely nowadays, am immersed in examination of thousands of records, but good job on this section! (note: sometimes this forum software changes the "zip" suffix to "unk" -- if it does that, just change it back to zip and the file will work properly) Diebold: Diebold:
"Government is the servant of the people, and not the master of them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. We insist on remaining informed so that we may retain control over the instruments of government we have created.

Thanks Bev! What I'm really in need of are the specific ballot styles that are still hand counted in the US. I've seen several discussions taking place elsewhere that have people comparing foreign hand counted ballots containing only one choice, to US ballots with 50 or more races and issues to be decided. I'm particularly interested in ballot samples from hand counted elections in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Montana. I'm also interested in ballot samples from the six counties in North Dakota that changed from HCPB to machines in 2004. I'd like to examine their cost per ballot, before and after the change. There's one other item about the OS ballots that I'd rather not discuss on line at the moment. Give me a call when you get a chance. Pat A. Vesely ;-) Paper ballots are the 'Currency of Democracy'. Pat - thank you for doing this! I have a few hundred samples here from this last election - almost exclusively focused on OS ballots of different brands. (They tend to be quite revealing when viewed in numbers.) Over the holidays, I'll endeavor to upload any additional sets I have. HG;) |
