Since time is short, I am posting this here to reach other communities. Please forward to your local press - radio, TV newspapers, and peace action groups.

The ACTION line is the important piece:
"HOW: Veterans will march on many major cities in America and engage in an act of civil disobedience in order to communicate their disgust with our country’s continued attack on the United States Constitution and our continued illegal occupation of Iraq."

And what I have heard, is that veterans should contact their VFP Chapter (Veterans for Peace) in each city, and get the local details.

WHO: United States Military Veterans Chapters of Veterans for Peace across the United States will take the lead on this, but ALL veterans are encouraged to participate.

WHAT: “Enough is Enough A Veteran’s Day of National Action”

WHERE: In cities across the United States of America

WHY: With the passing of the Military Commissions Act, the United States government has dissolved our constitutional right to habeas corpus, in addition to authorizing the systematic torture of prisoners of war and enemy combatants. On the heels of the USA PATRIOT Act and the ongoing illegal occupation of Iraq, our government has methodically dishonored everything that veterans of prior conflicts have fought and died for in vowing to serve and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. As a result, we must be silent no more! Enough is enough!

WHEN: This action will take place on Friday, November 10th at 5:00 pm in every time zone. This action will serve to create a wave of civil disobedience across our country. In a display of genuine patriotism, veterans across America will take action to give new meaning to Veteran's Day on the day before the shameful parade of "official" Veteran's Day propaganda is glorified in our country yet again.

HOW: Veterans will march on many major cities in America and engage in an act of civil disobedience in order to communicate their disgust with our country’s continued attack on the United States Constitution and our continued illegal occupation of Iraq.
