From the 2002 VSS regarding retention of voting materials "It is not necessary to retain this information on electronic media if there is an official, authenticatable printed copy of all final database information."
Unfortunately, 'authenticatable" is not word found in any dictionary and, obviously, can't have an 'official' associative copy.
All depends on what the definition of is is, I guess.
