I just came across this great quote on Greg Palast's website:

"There are all kinds of ways to muzzle reporters. Electroshocks to the genitals is pretty good, but stuffing journalists mouths with money is the way it's done in the USA. They can't talk but THEY LOVE IT."

http://gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=482&row=0

It's not clear who's being quoted, but I assume it's Greg Palast.

It made me stop and think. Not only is this true for many journalists, it's perhaps also true for politicians, election officials, academics and others who failed to speak up about the problems they knew existed with the voting machines.

It also reminded me of those NDAs. Mouths stuffed. Can't talk, but they love it.

And now Sequoia, arguably the least accurate of all the systems, apparently has a lock on how 40,000,000 votes are to be recorded! Their performance in the recent Chicago election was definitely less than stellar, and I shudder to think of what may happen if their brand of confustication is allowed to rule.
