King County depot, election night Nov. 8 2005; This location pulls memory cards for 34 precincts. The observer cannot see what the guy in the dark truck is doing with the electronic ballot boxes. (When one even exists; with 17 depots, not all have observation personnel at all times) What do you think? If you were the man in the truck, could you achieve a card swap? Note also the rough treatment given to King County's optical scan machines. According to Diebold's bid worksheet for Sacramento County (Calif.) these machines are sold for around $6,000 apiece.
