FYI, on C-span the House is voting on machines to adjourn, but the voting machines are having "technical" difficulties. The Dems are saying that the machines are couning the votes "accurately" but the Repubs aren't buying it and are having a fit! They claim they don't know if the vote totals are correct at this juncture, something about the computer printouts. An embarrassed Steny Hoyer said the technical problems are being addressed. Latest update for the House: "Voting machines still broken. Legislators will reconvene at 4:00 p.m." Wow, it's poetic justice that the House is experiencing the same kind of voting machine problems that plague the American elections around the country on a regular basis for years. Of course, Steny Hoyer was jolly on the spot defending the machines. Kathleen |

Oh, Lord--I remember the lst time the machines failed in Congress. And the beat goes on----- same old --same old. Argue the tecnicalities all you want. I want free/open elections-with the transparency which were meant to be-end of story. |

What system do they use there? It's just a few sets of two different buttons isn't it? I have trouble seeing it, but that's what it looks like to me. |
