Congratulations, Bev, I think you've proven my point that every voter needs to be capable of verifying the recording of his or her own ballot, as they can't reliably do anything else. And every person should be able to work from a completely published record of the election, to audit the entire election, if he/she chooses to do so.
Examine this carefully, will anything else break us out of this situation, where the evidence is possessed and controlled by people that may be crooked?
And Catherine, it wasn't nearly this tight in Ohio, from polling, it averaged 3% down for Kerry and 3% up for Bush, representing a 6% swing, much larger than this, and it still flew (long enough). |
