In Florida you can not be inside the polling place Election Day, but you are allowed to go in afterwards to see what they do. Do you think it would be worth it?

Yes, yes, yes. Call your county registrar's office now to see if you need any paperwork to qualify to go inside at poll closing. Everyone should see the process at least once.

Even though the BBV Citizen's Toolkit was last updated for 2008, it is quite relevant and useful. In some places they allow observers, but only at a distance. As I recall the toolkit has advice.
