Subject: Las Vegas Ward 4 will go to recount

NEVADA: Maybe a contest to watch as maybe it will turn into a question of Sequoia voting systems ??? Lost by 10 votes Trowbridge, 65, called the results "practically a tie" and said, "There will be a recount."

This shouldn't take very long with the small number of votes cast.

Does anyone know where/when the recount will take place?

Trowbridge has to ask for the recount and I'm sure it will take place in Clark County election department who supplies all voting machines for all elections in Clark County !
http://www.accessclarkcounty.com/depts/election/english/Pages/home.aspx
I notified Trowbridge campaign and RJ news reporter that this sequoia system is de-certified in California.
We shall see how they react ?????

LAS VEGAS CITY COUNCIL RACE: Trowbridge seeks a recount:

Under state law, the recount will begin with a hand count of four precincts chosen by Trowbridge, Lomax said. If the results differ from the official results by more than 1 percent, all of the votes cast in the Ward 4 City Council race will be recounted by hand.
How are they recounting by hand ??? This will be very interesting !!! Will they look at all of the absentee ballots and the VVPAT tapes ???
Will watching this one !

Yes, they would have to use the VVPAT tapes, which in CA, in the event of a recount, become the official ballots of record.

The Sequoia DREs were decertified/recertified so long as the county, vendor and state met 41 conditions of recertification. To date, Riverside County has violated or failed to meet at least 8 and more likely 10 or 12 of those conditions (as reported in a $315,000 operations review and submitted to the Board of Supervisors on March 3, 2009). So far, the Secretary of State has taken no action we are aware of to force compliance, but maybe they have and we just don't know.

To see the report, you can go to http://bosvideo.co.riverside.ca.us/ppportal/agenda/webcast.aspx
and scroll down to the FIRST date of 3/3/09 and select "Play" from the "Video" column. Then under the video screen, scroll down to the last item (#6 in yellow) and press play. The physical report can be found on the Board Agenda Item 16.3 for that date. The URL is http://www.clerkoftheboard.co.riverside.ca.us/agendas/2009/03_03_2009.htm. Scroll to the very bottom and click on "Registrar of Voters" to view the 58-page Executive Summary.

Reports from SAVE R VOTE can be found at www.savervote.com.

Recount confirms Anthony's election to City Council. Trowbridge said: “I’m not going to pursue it, although I do have pretty strong feelings that the day is going to come when the method of tabulating votes is going to change,”

Again another (faux) recount doesn't mean nothing except abuse of expanding power.
